Can A Believer In God Go To Hell?
- The Jews believe in the God of the Bible and this is what Jesus said about some of them:
“Woe to you, teachers of the law (scribes) and Pharisees (sect of the Jewish religion), you hypocrites. You travel land and sea to win a single convert, and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much the child of hell as you are.” Matthew 23:15
- The Apostle Paul was a Jew who believed in God and was very involved in his religion. Here is what Paul said about himself:
“After the most strictest sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee.” Acts 26:5
“Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.” 1 Timothy 1:5
This is what Paul said to the people that believed in the Gods of the Roman and Greek religions as well as the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers:Paul saw the city wholly given to idolatry. He disputed with the Athenians, and foreigners, including the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers saying, “I perceive you are too religious. In the past God overlooked such ignorance of idolatry, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent. For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof to this by raising Him (Jesus) from the dead.” Acts 17:16-31
· Christians must also repent from hell sins and live godly lives.
· Their main beliefs teach and demand it.
Grace – For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, rightly, and godly, in this present world. Titus 2:11-12
Faith/Belief – Abraham was strengthened in faith, being fully convinced that what God had promised He was also able to perform. Romans 4:20-21 Faith without works is dead. Can that kind of faith save him? By works a man is justified and not by faith only. James 2:19-24
Water Baptism – All of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death. Our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. Romans 6:3-6
Worship – Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness. Psalms 29:2 To those coming to God’s house to worship, Jeremiah said, “Amend your ways and your doings.” Jeremiah 7 1-3
Jesus – God, raised up His son Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away each one from his iniquities. Acts 3:26
If you are a believer in God but still committing sins that lead to hell, there is a remedy to the problem. Admit your failures to Jesus and ask Him to cleanse and forgive you. Invite Jesus into your life and follow Him. Like prescription medicines, repeat this as often as necessary till all symptoms of sin are gone. 1 John 1:9, John 1:12
